OK…here it is Sunday night and I just realized the month of August is almost gone. It has literally flown by! It’s been a good month – I’ve learned a lot, blogged a lot, wrote articles, maintained my offline company, visited my family, and my partner in my online company, Sue White, and I are ready to launch a whole line of new products starting on Tuesday. I said all that to say that I have not posted everyday on this blog as I signed up to do in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. It isn’t that I don’t have anything to say – quite the opposite. I just got sidetracked with writing posts that only apply to the new products we are launching.
We are an online training company – Business Training Team, specializing in eLearning for small business owners, sales professionals, and entrepreneurs, especially those who work from home. We offer training in a wide variety of subjects. Our library is quite packed with good info. But Sue and I discovered that the library was SO packed that people just weren’t finding all the good stuff we had. So, we decided to “deconstruct” our website, unpack some of the courses people need the most, and re-package the products into live training courses with Q&A and then offer the replays for review for up to a year. The live courses will last 4-6 weeks. The very first one is on how to learn to use Microsoft Excel.
Excel is the least intuitive of all the Office products, but it’s the one with the most power and punch! Sue is a CPA, and a Microsoft Certified Specialist, so she’ll be guiding us through the Excel course, along with a professional trainer from PA, also named Sue, who owns a corporate training firm. This is going to be GOOD stuff. Look on my left sidebars for sign up information.
But, now I’m left with only two days left in the challenge, and I need to post 14 times to finish. So, do I just trot out 14 posts and post every few hours for a couple of days just to say I did it? The old perfectionist, performer and over-achiever in me just might do that. We’ll see…
In the meantime, if you’re not a seasoned Excel user (or even if you think you are) I urge you to join on for a FREE webinar on Tuesday Aug 31 at 3pm to talk about this Excel course. Learning Excel was one of the best things I ever did for myself!
See you on the net on Tuesday. Sign up info is also on the left sidebar.
So tell me…should I post 14 times in two days? Leave a comment and let me know!

Not sure I’ve got the answer to that one. But the new course sounds great!
What would be the value in posting 14 times in two days? What would your readers gain? Would you get readers to those post or would they swiftly pass by unnoticed?
I guess I would go back to the purpose of joining the challenge in the beginning…if writing the 14 posts meets that purpose then do it. If not move on to what would best serve that purpose now.
I am with Sheila. If you post 14 times in 2 days, no one would be able to read them and your posts will get lost. Much like what happened with your other content library. If you have 14 posts, great. Schedule them to come out 1 every day. It will be much more valuable to your reader (and Google) that way. So you didn’t complete the Ultimate Blog Challenge in August. Use the 14 post and join a blog challenge in September. I am sure they are out there.
Oh you are right Sheila! I’m just having a hard time swallowing the fact that I didn’t finish what I started. Oh well…what I HAVE finished is a good product launch, with two more in the wings. And that is more important than satisfying my over-achiever itch!
Thanks for the feedback!
You are so right! See my reply to Sheila…Thanks for leaving your comment, and I’m going to spend some time today visiting other blogs, not posting to my blog! Much better idea. I’ll start with yours.
You know what I might do… is write the posts and schedule them throughout the month of September. You’d still have written the posts and while it wouldn’t be strictly completing the challenge it would also be proving to yourself that you could do it.
Should have read all the comments first.
Commenting on other blogs is a great idea.
Thanks Michelle,
Y’all have done such a GREAT job hosting this blog challenge. It is the third one I’ve done this year, and the first that I haven’t completed. I also completed the eZineArticles.com Marathon of 100 Articles in 100 Days challenge. So, I KNOW I can do it. It’s that with the product launches we’re in the middle of, the timing wasn’t right to be posting everyday. I’ll continue to blog, and in September we’re launching two new products, so much of my blogging will support that. It’s good to have entered into a new community of bloggers, and I will continue to explore their blogs as time permits. I’ve found some awesome folks out there with some great products. Let’s stay in touch.
Sincerely,
Jeanne
Jeanne… it looks like you’ve been busy and productive during this past month. I find I have to break down my business day and month down into “importances.” Sometimes “importances” change and different things take priority.
We may have a list… but often have to shuffle the order of the list to meet our end goals. Looks like you have been doing that. Good luck on your new projects.
Kathy, You are so wise. Yes, it has been a productive month and I think it will be a great 4th quarter, which will officially end my first year online. It has been a long and winding road, but what a joy it’s been! Especially meeting people like you and the rest of my “Favorite Ladies.”
Personally, I agree with what was said about scheduling the 14 posts in advance. In my opinion, that would give you:
*Time to improve on any by adding insights, changing titles, checking on formatting, etc.
*See if any of the posts could be made into two or more posts.
*See if they could be grouped for a theme which could end up in a series of some sort: article series or series of posts for instance.
However, that’s Lee and not you!

Agree with blog challenge
, cant hardly wait to contribute. Thanks
Thanks Lee. Actually, I wrote so much for the eZine challenge (100 articles in 100 days) that I have several themed groups of articles/blog posts that I am trying to coordinate with the launch of related products. To just post them for the sake of posting everyday seemed a little out of sync with what I was trying to accomplish, so I didn’t have 31 days of posts for the blog challenge. The good news is that I still write almost everyday and I got a LOT accomplished this summer. Thanks so much for being part of my community. I appreciate your comment.
Jeanne,
Okay, those were just some quick thoughts that came to mind. Happy writing and you are welcome.
